We are making progress on our Shelter Makeover at Beltrami Humane Society! Many thanks to the Northwest Minnesota Foundation for selecting BHS to be part of the “Picture-It-Painted” award program sponsored by the Valspar Paint Corporation. This project began in early June 2009.

We invite each of you to come in and see the transformation while it is happening! The wall surfaces have been evaluated within the facility and are being prepped for painting. In the last few weeks we have gone through wall patching, mudding and sanding. The primer is finished and our paint colors have been selected.

When the paint is ready, it is delivered to the shelter. We are following a timeline and upon the completion of the project (by July 31st), we will submit pictures of the structure during, before and after restoration along with a one page narrative report to the Foundation.

Are the animals we provide temporary homes for worth it? You betcha!  We love our shelter animals, and they will be given the best of care and a comfortable home until they can be adopted into a forever home of their very own!
